The BA Hosts the “Role of University Professors in Promoting the Principles of Sustainable Development” Forum

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Library has hosted the international forum “The Role of University Professors in Promoting the Principles of Sustainable Development in Society.” The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Marwa El-Wakil, Head of the BA Academic Research Sector; Dr. Ahmed BaHammam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Association of University Professors; Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, former Minister of Education and Professor of Engineering and Computer Science at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology; Dr. Heba Sharobeem, Professor at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, and member of the Egyptian Senate; and Major General Tarek El-Mahdy, former Governor of Alexandria.
Dr. Marwa El-Wakil delivered the keynote address on behalf of Dr. Ahmed Zayed, emphasizing the importance of strengthening Arab cooperation on social and academic issues, in light of the United Nations’ adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, which represent a global framework for achieving a balanced future by 2030.
The forum aims to strengthen the leading role of university professors in achieving sustainable development in Arab societies by showcasing and sharing successful experiences among academics, in pursuit of a sustainable future for our communities.
