The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in collaboration with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries' Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP), is organizing a lecture titled “Integrating Genomics and Machine Learning in One Health: Predicting and Controlling Antimicrobial Resistance Across Ecosystems,” on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, at 12:00 pm, in the Conference Center’s Lecture Hall.

The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Mohamed El-Hadidy, Professor of Biomedical Sciences and Director of the Genomics Center at Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation. He will highlight that antimicrobial resistance and the emergence of pathogens are among the most significant and growing global challenges resulting from complex interactions between humans, animals, and the environment, which necessitates the adoption of integrative and predictive approaches. He will also present a comprehensive framework based on the concept of “One Health,” combining microbial genomics, machine learning, and functional validation to understand the evolution of pathogens, predict high-risk traits, and guide therapeutic and preventive interventions.

The lecture is free and open to the public with registration.
