The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in collaboration with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries' Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP), is organizing a lecture titled “Causality and Decision Making” on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at 12:00 pm, in the Auditorium Hall, Main Building.
The lecture will be delivered by Professor Guido W. Imbens, Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences (2021), Professor of Economics at Stanford University, Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and Denning Co-Director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI.
The lecture will address how the goal of modern statistical analysis is often to understand causal relationships — that is, to understand the underlying “cause” behind the data — and how this understanding helps leaders make informed and forward-looking decisions.
The event is free and open to the public. Those wishing to attend must register in advance through the following link: www.bibalex.org/cssp/CDM
