Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, has opened the 21st edition of the Library’s International Book Fair, accompanied by Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, and Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel-Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, in the presence of a select group of senior officials, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, intellectuals, and editors-in-chief of Egyptian newspapers.

Dr. Zayed said that this year’s edition has expanded significantly in terms of the number of publishers and cultural events, reflecting the Library’s commitment to developing the fair each year. He mentioned that this year’s fair features more than 85 publishers, in addition to the Azbakeya Book Market, which offers books to the public at reduced prices.

He also noted that the cultural program will host nearly 1,000 speakers, featuring intellectuals, university professors, poets, and writers.

In addition, Eng. Ayman Attia stated that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina serves as a patron of culture in Egypt and that its International Book Fair has become an international cultural event eagerly anticipated by the public each year for the diverse activities it offers, which enrich the cultural and intellectual landscape.
