“Daoud Abdel Sayed in Our Memory”… The First Seminar of the BA International Book Fair

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said that the Library’s selection of the renowned director and writer Daoud Abdel Sayed as the Personality of the 21st edition of its International Book Fair came in recognition of his long creative career and his exceptional contributions to cinema that combined intellectual depth with artistic excellence, and in celebration of an artistic and cultural figure who left an indelible mark on the history of Egyptian and Arab cinema.
This statement was made during the seminar “Daoud Abdel Sayed in Our Memory,” organized by the Library as part of the cultural program of its International Book Fair. Speakers at the event included Dr. Ashraf Zaki, President of the Actors’ Guild; set designer Onsi Abu Seif; actor Ahmed Kamal; and composer Dr. Rageh Daoud. The seminar featured a screening of a documentary film on director Daoud Abdel Sayed, produced by the Library’s Studio Department.
