Believing in the importance of developing knowledge and scientific capabilities, spreading environmental awareness and urging the dissemination of the concepts of sustainability and the UN goals for sustainable development, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has been organizing the “Youth for a Sustainable Environment and a Better Understanding” program since 2002, which is supervised by the Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program. This program is directed towards school students aged 13 - 18, who gather in a weekly meeting on Saturdays, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, to discuss scientific topics related to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
