In cooperation with the Sudanese Consulate in Alexandria, the BA Arabic Poetry Diwan will host Sudanese poet Rawda Al-Haj.

The event will commence with a poem by Al-Haj, followed by an award ceremony to honor the winners in the Sawt al-Arab Ramadan Competition for young poets, which was held in collaboration with the Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain. The day events will conclude with a poetry reading session featuring the guest of honor, Rawda Al-Haj; Alexandrian poet Fouad Kaman; as well as the four competition winners.

Rawda Al-Haj is a Sudanese poet who won the Gold Prize, as best interlocutor, at the Cairo Festival for Radio and Television in 2008. Her poems have been translated into English and French, and she currently works as a presenter in the Sudanese Radio and at Al Shorouk TV station. She is also a member of the Sudanese Parliament.
