Title in English: Greek II (HS012) Teaching Professor: Prof. Mohamed Abdel Ghani Course Description: GREEK II This course builds on what the students learn in HS012 Greek I course, in order to help them understand and translate the Greek texts and sentences. It will cover the following areas: 1. Conjugation of First Type Verbs [the different tenses, as well as the Passive and the Middle Voice, and the Deponent Verbs, and the Indicative Mood]. 2. The Conjugation of Verbs: a) with stem ending in vowels. b) with stem ending in consonants. 3. The Conjugation of Verbs in the Second Tenses [ second aorist, perfect, and future]. 4. The subjunctive, Imperative, and Optative Mood. 5. Present and Perfect Participles and their uses. 6. Declension of the Third Type Nouns : a) with stem ending in consonants. b) with stem ending in vowels and diphthongs. 7. Universal Relative Pronouns, and Indefinite Pronouns. 8. Second Group Adjectives [regular and irregular, and the comparison of adjectives]. 9. Genitive and Accusative absolute; and Temporal Clauses. 10. Exercises and Tests to evaluate the students.
