Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, holds an intellectual meeting on Ali Pasha Mubarak, the Pioneer of the Educational Renaissance, on 26 November 2018, at 12:00 pm at the BA. Participants at this meeting include Dr. Latifa Salem, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the Faculty of Arts, Banha University, Dr. Mohammed Afifi, Head of the History Department at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, and Dr. Kamal Mugheith, Researcher at the National Research Center.
The meeting will be preceded by a display of a number of original copies of Ali Pasha Mubarak’s writings, which are part of the BA’s collection of old publications. A documentary on the Bulaq Press will be screened to showcase the success of Ali Pasha Mubarak’s investment in the then new technological development as a tool for the dissemination and modernization of the school book.
It is worth mentioning that the BA has ensured that this view of the past represented in the unique experience in the field of promoting education in the 19th century comes at a time when the current state is harnessing its energies to achieve a wide educational Renaissance worthy of Egypt’s civilization and position at the heart of the developed world.
