The BA Antiquities Museum, in cooperation with the BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies, organizes a seminar for antiquities students and professionals and those interested in archaeological heritage. The seminar comes as part of the 4th cultural forum, which will be held on 11 and 12 March 2019, titled “Cultural Heritage of Rashid through the Ages”, and tackles with several topics related to the city of Rashid and its rich cultural and archaeological heritage.
This seminar is organized based on the recommendations of President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sissi during the Youth Conference held at the BA in July of 2017, in which he stated the necessity of shedding light on the city of Rashid and its infrastructure, in addition to transforming it into an open-air museum featuring its historical houses and mosques to promote religious tourism, since Rashid is the second city with Islamic antiquities after Cairo. The seminal also comes in line with the Dr. Mostafa el Fekki’s view on the importance of the city of Rashid and role the BA can play in this regard. Rashid is one of the few Egyptian cities that has found international fame, especially after the discovery of the Rosetta Stone during the French Expedition to Egypt and the decoding of its symbols. Rashid has joined the list of world heritage cities and is considered an open-air museum of various unique styles of Islamic architecture, representing important eras in Egyptian history from ancient Egypt until modern times. It has witnessed many events that influenced its progress, civilization, and cemented its importance as a vital cultural and economic center.
On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition of the landmarks of the city of Rashid and its treasures will be held.

The seminar revolves around the ancient city of Rashid in reference to the following topics:
 The influence and history of Rashid in ancient times.
 The history of Rashid in the Islamic Era.
 The History of Rashid in modern times.
 The urban development and tourism development in Rashid.
