The BA Hosts the Second Arab Youth Forum "The Culture of Youth and Reform"

Alexandria— The BA Arab Reform Forum will organize the Second Arab Youth Forum entitled "The Culture of Youth and Reform" during the period 26-28 February 2007. Eighteen Arab Country will participate in the forum to agree on the mechanisms of the youth participation in different issues and concerns of the Arab world, based on the youth responsibility in drafting their future.

Seventy four youth representatives from several Arab countries, namely: Palestine, Jordon, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Libya, Comoros Islands, Qatar, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Oman, and Somalia will participate in the forum. Representatives from 19 Egyptian governorates will also attend the forum.

The forum will discuss four themes. The first "Youth, Economic Development Culture, and Private Enterprises" will emphasize youth perception of labor and its ethics, with special focus on free labor and initiative.

The second theme "The Role of Education and Training in Acquiring Skills" will discuss the notion that the educational system in most of the Arab countries does not conform with the requirements of the labor market.

The third theme "The Relationship between Youth, Authority and Society" will tackle the relationship between youth and different forms of authority, as youth by nature are inclined to self fulfillment, excellence, and creativity.

"The Image of Arabs in the West" is the fourth theme and will discuss how cultural images of certain societies affect the social relationships among different societies.
