The BA Participates in the Sharjah World Book Fair

Alexandria— The BA participates in the Sharjah World Book Fair, 5-14 December 2007, organized by the Department of Culture and Information of Sharjah Government, with a collection of Arabic, English, and French publications issued by the various BA research centers.

The BA publications presented in the Fair include: The Digitization of Knowledge From Stone to Digital Age, Marvels of Arabic Calligraphy in Al-Busiri Mosque, The Arab Reform Observatory… Dilemmas and Indicators, The Birth of the Seventh Art in Alexandria Catalogue, and The History of Writings from Ideogram to Multimedia, which won the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science Award for the best translated book in the Arab region for the year 2006, in addition to other publications in arts and science.

It is worth mentioning that the Department of Culture and Information of Sharjah Government, UAE started organizing the Sharjah World Book Fair in 1982, every year in December for ten days. The Fair comprises various sections for Arabic language, Foreign languages, children, and Islamic books, as well as a section for digital products.
