The BA Participates in the 41st Session of the Cairo International Book Fair

Alexandria— The BA is participating in the 41st session of the Cairo International Book Fair that will be held at the fairgrounds in Madinet Nasr (Nasr City), Cairo, from 21 January to 5 February 2009.

Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department, stated that the BA will participate with its most recent publications, foremost of which is The Fatimide Inscriptions and Writings on the Architectural Monuments, that was awarded Best Book in 2008 by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The BA will also present its latest publications of “The Memory of Modern Egypt” series, namely, The Salim Family, The Photographic Memory of Cairo, Aly Pasha Ibrahim, Akhbar Al-Youm, Shura Council Catalogue, People’s Assembly Catalogue, Biram Eltounsy, Bulaq Press, Rose Al-Youssef and Hassan Fathy.

Dr. Azab also pointed out that visitors to the BA Pavilion in the Fair will be able to watch screenings of films produced by the BA, such as: a film made on the occasion of launching “The Memory of Modern Egypt” project, a film on the 5th anniversary of the BA and a film entitled Al-Arabi: The Divan of the Arab Culture, on the 50th anniversary of the Kuwaiti magazine Al-Arabi, as well as several documentaries on the BA.
