Alexandria and Other Centers of Thought in Ancient Egypt Conference at the BA

Alexandria— The BA Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies, in cooperation with University College London, UK and Cairo University, Egypt, organizes a Conference entitled “Alexandria and Other Centers of Thought in Ancient Egypt” from 10 to 12 December 2009.
The Conference aims to shed light on specific sites in the ancient world that were once designated as centers of thought and learning. It begins with Alexandria, the capital city of learning in the Hellenistic World, demonstrating how knowledge was transmitted to and from Alexandria to other famous cities including Heliopolis, Hermopolis, Tanis, Panopolis, Qus and Cairo.
The Conference is held at 10:00 am the BACC Small Theater, and is open for public.
