Knowledge Content at Documentation Centers and Artificial Intelligence Applications

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) held a seminar entitled "Knowledge Content at Documentation Centers and Artificial Intelligence Applications" on Tuesday, 8 August 2023, at the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) in the Government District of the Administrative Capital.

This is the first in a series of joint seminars to be held between the Strategic Documents Center (SDC) at the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) and the BA National Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT). The seminar shed light on the knowledge content at documentation centers and the importance of using artificial intelligence applications in managing this content and presenting it to researchers and decision-makers with the aim of maximizing its benefits.

At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, praised the efforts and keenness of the Information and Decision Support Center to hold this series of seminars and discussed the importance of this meeting in highlighting the knowledge content at documentation centers, as well as the importance of using artificial intelligence applications in managing this content and presenting it to researchers and decision-makers. He also addressed the role of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in preserving Egyptian cultural and natural heritage.

The seminar was attended by a group of experts from the Information and Decision Support Center, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Cairo University and Microsoft. It concluded with a panel discussion with the audience, as they tackled the most important ideas presented during the seminar, and developed proposals to enhance cooperation between the Information and Decision Support Center and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in the field of knowledge content and artificial intelligence applications.
