Documentary and 3-D Films Produced by the BA CULTNAT

The BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) has produced a number of documentaries and 3-D films, as part of its documentary projects that are aimed at communicating information to the viewer in an engaging and enjoyable way.
The Center has produced more than 57 documentary films, including Portraits of Fayoum, Memphis, Heliopolis, Sayed Darwish, Selim Hassan, Egypt 1920, Luxor: City of the Sun and the film series on the Digital Archive of Egyptian Traditional Crafts, which is a collection of films that tackle the documentation of traditional crafts and industries.
The Center has also produced and developed a series of films that used 3-D animation techniques. Some of these films were produced and developed in cooperation with UNESCO, specifically for the Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat. These films were first screened during the opening ceremony of the Museum and the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade. The films revealed selections from the creations and innovations of the scientific heritage of the ancient Egyptian civilization, represented in the water clock, the sundial, the ancient Egyptian cubit, the astrolabe, stone tools, prosthetics in ancient Egypt, scales, musical instruments and Egyptian weaving.
