Workshop: “AI in Scientific Research”

The BA Technical Skills Unit, in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, is organizing a workshop titled “AI in Scientific Research,” on Monday, 22 June, at 2:00 pm, in the Conference Center’s Delegates Hall.

The workshop targets educators and researchers. It highlights the potential of AI in advancing scientific research as well as library and information science.
Speakers at the workshop include Prof. Ahmed Abu El-Farag, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; Prof. Ahmed Al-Shaer, Head of Academic Departments at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; and Ms. Yousra Awara, EBSCO’s Regional Training Specialist for the Middle East and North Africa.
Also participating in the workshop are Eng. Mohamed Ashraf Ragab; Assistant Researcher and Electronics and Communications Engineer specializing in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Smart Systems at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; and Eng. Sara Ashraf Ragab, a master’s student in Computer Science at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
This event is part of a joint collaboration between the BA and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport for the fourth consecutive year. It is a continuation of the efforts to disseminate knowledge and keep pace with rapid technological developments.
The 2026 season features more than 35 diverse topics under the theme “AI for All,” with the aim of raising awareness of modern technologies and empowering participants to utilize AI tools in various fields, including productivity, scientific research, library science, business development, and building smarter communities.
