The BA Library Sector announces the launch of the first edition of the international conference "Library Development and Its Role in Enlightenment and Cultural Dialogue," on 10 and 11 November 2026, with the participation of a select group of Arab and international specialists and experts in the fields of library and information science, technology, culture, and education.

The conference supports Egypt’s vision 2030 by connecting information, culture, technology, and education to build a knowledge society, highlighting libraries as key drivers of this integration.

The conference is accompanied by a fair featuring global publishing industry leaders and IT providers, showcasing innovative products and solutions through interactive media and competitions. It also includes a cultural evening to introduce international guests to the rich Egyptian culture.

The conference is set to conclude with the announcement of a number of practical recommendations for cultural institutions, underlining the enhancement of regional and international partnerships, the launch of a sustainable initiative reflecting the principles of the circular knowledge economy, and the formation of a governance alliance from senior representatives of the participating institutions, aimed at drafting the "Library of the Future Guidelines."
