A distinguished group of Egyptian and international artists meet for the second year at the Second Alexandria International Sculpture Symposium: Marble Sculpture, held at the BA, during the period from 1 July until 31 August.
This year's round of the International BA Symposium for Sculpture in natural raw materials is dedicated to sculpture in marble, while the first round was dedicated to sculpture in granite. Fourteen artists will participate in this round, some of whom had participated in the first round. The majority of the participants are from Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, Italy, Germany, and Serbia, each of whom has their distinctive style and their particular way of treating the sculpting bloc reflecting their respective cultures.
This round is chaired by Commissar Saeed Badr, the Alexandrian artist, who successfully participated in the previous round with a distinguished granite piece of art.
The Exhibition will be held in the Plaza of Civilizations, following a 15-day workshop from 12-26 June 2007, gathering 13 artists from different Arab and foreign countries at the Alexandria Beautification Center.
