2017 Big Read Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 2017 Big Read program is going to be held on Sunday, 18 June 2017, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center (BACC) Small Theater, at 1:00 pm. This year’s program is going to focus on the short story collection Sareq al-Kohl (The Kohl Thief), which includes ka'ann (As if ), Sareq al-Kohl (The Kohl Thief), Aimra'a Maskina (Poor Woman), and Al-Firash al-Shaghir (The Empty Bed), by Egyptian writer Yahya Haqqi.
The program includes various cultural events, such as lectures, seminars, film screenings, play readings, literary and artistic competitions, and online activities.
