On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted a ceremony that witnessed the renewal of the cooperation protocol signed with Arish University regarding the utilization of the “Embassies of Knowledge” services, in a step that consolidates the continuity of the fruitful partnership among Egyptian cultural and academic institutions and reinforces the role of the Embassy of Knowledge within the University in serving students, researchers, and residents of North Sinai.

The protocol was signed by Prof. Ahmed Abdullah Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Prof. Ayman Abdel-Meguid El-Shebiny, President of Arish University, at the Library’s Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage in the Smart Village, Cairo.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Prof. Ashraf Farrag, Supervisor of the Embassies of Knowledge Department; and Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Information and Communication Technology Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, along with a number of deans and senior staff from both institutions.

The renewal of the protocol marks the culmination of the success achieved by the Embassy of Knowledge since its launch nearly six years ago. Cooperation between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Arish University began in 2019 with the signing of the first protocol to establish the Embassy on campus. Since then, students and faculty members have been able to access the Library’s vast digital scientific resources, which has enriched the educational process and supported scientific research at the University.
