The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has released the 20th issue of Abgadiyat. This is a peer-reviewed international scholarly journal published annually by the Writing and Scripts Center. It is indexed in the global Scopus database, which is considered one of the largest and most distinguished academic and scientific citation databases in the world. It is also accredited by the Scientific Promotion Committees of the Supreme Council of Universities, and is published and distributed worldwide in partnership with Brill Publishing in Leiden, the Netherlands.

This issue features seven research papers focusing on Greek papyrology, offering valuable insights into daily life in ancient Egypt during the Greek and Roman periods.

It also highlights one of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s prominent heritage preservation projects: the documentation and study of the Zaki Ali Papyri Collection. This project exemplifies the Library’s active role in utilizing the latest digitization and scientific research technologies to preserve, analyze, and make accessible this valuable archive of Greek papyri.

The Writing and Scripts Center is honored to invite specialists in inscriptions and epigraphy to contribute their research to the upcoming issue of Abgadiyat (22nd issue 2028). The main theme of this issue will be “Inscriptions in Ancient Egypt: Publication, Study, and Digital Documentation.”
