Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, has signed a cooperation agreement with Dr. Sahar Al-Sonbaty, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, in the presence of senior staff from both institutions.

Dr. Zayed said that childhood is one of the fundamental pillars for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, noting that investing in children is an investment in the future of society, and that the responsibility for their care and protection rests jointly with the family, society, and the State.

He added that the protocol helps expand the scope of activities and programs targeting children both within and outside the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and paves the way for launching new initiatives aimed at developing children’s capacities, fostering a culture that protects their rights, and building generations capable of contributing to the development of society.

For her part, Dr. Sahar Al-Sonbaty stated that the cooperation protocol with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina aims to expand the scope of cultural and outreach programs for children and harness the Library’s potential in the fields of education, culture, and scientific research.

The two sides exchanged commemorative gifts, as Dr. Al-Sonbaty and her accompanying delegation took a tour of the Library to gain a broader understanding of its collections and activities.
