The Bibliotheca Alexandrina's director and staff extend their sincere condolences on the passing of distinguished archaeologist Dr. Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, one of the most prominent scholars of Egyptian archaeology, former Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and one of the most significant discoverers of the archaeological sites of Sinai and the Way of Horus (Horus Military Road).
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud left behind a significant scholarly legacy through his research and discoveries. His name will remain engraved in the history of Egyptian archaeology, thanks to his dedicated efforts in the excavation, study, and preservation of Egypt’s cultural heritage.
