Hieroglyphs and Hieratic Courses at BA

The BA Writing and Scripts Center organizes intensive courses to teach various scripts to adults, youth, and those with an interest in studying and learning hieroglyphic and hieratic writing.
The Hieroglyphys (Level 1) course is taught by Dr. Ahmed Hamdy Abdel Moneim, Professor of Egyptian Antiquities at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University. The course starts on 26 October and runs until 3 December 2026, on Mondays and Thursdays of each week, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. It highlights the most fundamental topics for teaching the ancient Egyptian language.
The Hieratic Script Course (Level 1) is taught by Dr. Mohamed Hassan Ismail, PhD in Egyptian Antiquities and aims to train participants in reading and analyzing Hieratic script, which was the most significant daily, administrative, and literary script in ancient Egypt. The course starts on 26 October and runs until 3 December 2026, on Mondays and Thursdays of each week, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
