This volume is dedicated to the Omar Toussoun Collection of the Graeco-Roman Museum. The collection is wide ranging and includes architectural elements, sculpture, minor arts and pottery, all of which have as their provenance the Canopic region, 20 kilometers east of Alexandria. The collection was donated by the prince in 1923, and was exhibited in Room 22, named The Prince Omar Toussoun Hall in his honor.

The year 2013 witnessed the organization of the 3rd round of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Biennale for Miniature Graphics, the events of which the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) had started in 2009. This year, the two cycles of 2011 and 2012 have been combined together. The focus of the 2011 award was the “Architectural Creativity of Young Egyptian Architects” to encourage young architects and be acquainted with their visions and ideas, in addition to offering a forum for presenting and discussing their architectural projects. The 2012 Award focused on “New Comprehensive Developments and Cityscapes”. Over the past few decades, a new form of architectural design has appeared on the Egyptian architectural scene, which, unlike the limited nature of individual buildings or residential apartments, entails comprehensive development projects.

The Catalogue of the BA Fifth International Biennale for the Artist’s Book held from 3 to 28 May 2012. This special round celebrated the 10th anniversary of the BA, which was inaugurated in October 2002 and the establishment of the BA Arts Center. The event marked 10 years since the BA’s first event to honor the relationship between plastic and visual arts in relation to the concept of books, writing and documentation.
