The Austrian TV visits the BA

Alexandria—The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is considered one of the biggest and most important cultural and scientific organizations worldwide for what it holds of facilities, what it offers to its visitors and the events and conferences it organizes which attract international and local interest. Ultimately also the media as seen by the Austrian Television’s visit to the BA.

During the visit, the Austrian TV had an interview with Dr. Ismail Serageldin, the Director of the BA, where he welcomed the Austrian TV pointing out the vision of the new BA and its importance on the regional and international level, stating that it has a significant role as a beacon of culture and science and art in the modern world. The Austrian TV also had an interview with Dr. Magdy Nagi, Head of ICT Department at the BA; they were introduced to the modern digital systems that the BA uses as well as the high technology used in the services provided to the BA patrons.

By the end of the visit, the Austrian TV took a tour through the BA to be better able to put on the air the advancement of the BA through the European television. Among the places they visited were; The Manuscripts Museum, The Digital Lab, The Internet Archive, The VISTA Hall, The Planetarium Science Center and The Alexploratorium.
