The Unclear Future of Agriculture in Africa

Alexandria — As part of the BA’s interest in different arts and sciences that enrich humanity, and its efforts to revive the scientific role of the ancient Library of Alexandria, the Youth for Sustainable Development and Better Understanding Program organized by the Center for Special Studies and Programs is holding a series of lectures on education, environment, and population growth. In this context, the center is organizing a lecture on Saturday, 15 July 2006, entitled Africa: A Mysterious Agricultural Future by Dr. Salah Soliman, Professor of Pesticide Chemistry and Toxicology, Faculty of Agriculture, Alexandria University. The lecture will discuss the problems facing agriculture in Africa, as one of the most important national income resources. The lecture also tackles the future of agriculture in Africa within a poor economic system in the African countries and an unjust global economic system. These lectures aim at developing the capacities of youth, and training them on preserving natural resources using scientific techniques.
The lecture will start at 17:00 hrs at the Meeting Hall, at the BA Conference Center.
