Cooperation Between Akhbar El-Youm and the BA in Publishing

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the BA, and Eng. Mohamed Ahdy Fadly, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Akhbar El-Youm, signed a cooperation agreement on publishing. The agreement stipulates republishing luxury editions of the BA publications in popular editions.

This fruitful cooperation started with a book entitled "The Journey of Ibn Khaldun", as part of the BA's celebration of the 600th anniversary of Ibn Khaldun's death. The book is prepared by Khaled Azab and Mohamed El-Sayed Hamdy, in which they narrate the life story of Ibn Khaldun from his birth until his death. The book was the first pilot project between the BA and Akhbar El-Youm.

As part of the publishing agreement, several books will be issued in the coming period including: "Authentication and Renovation of Islamic Architecture: Aga Khan Award for Architecture" by Dr. Ismail Serageldin; "Ibn Khaldun… the Mediterranean in the 14th Century: Rise and Fall of Empires" forwarded by Dr. Serageldin, Al-Mongy Bu Senina, Director General, ALESCO, and Sheikh Meshal Ben Gassem Ben Mohamed Al Thani, Chair, National Council for Culture, Arts, and Heritage in Qatar , and translated by the BA from Spanish into Arabic; and "Knowledge Receptacle from Stones to Printing on Demand" edited by Khaled Azab, Ahmed Mansour, and Suzanne Abed. The Book tackles the development of printing in Egypt, as well as the tools used to record knowledge from pre-historical ages to date.
