Alexandria— the BA Calligraphy Center will organize on Sunday, 20 May 2007, a seminar entitled "A Proof on the Arabic Origins of the Ancient Egyptian Language". Dr. Ali Fahmi Khishim, Head of the Academy of Arabic Language in Libya will speak in the seminar, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Sawy, Professor, Faculty of Archeology, Cairo University.

The seminar is a discussion of Dr. Khishim's new book "Proof of the Arabic Origins of the Ancient Egyptian Language", which is the fruit of 15 years of research to prove that the ancient Egyptian language is one of the forms of the Arabic language spoken in the Arab peninsula, similar to the Aramaic and the ancient Libyan languages.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sawy stated that the origin of the ancient Egyptian language raised a great scientific controversy, whether it is of Semitic, Aramaic, or Coptic origins. He added that Dr. Khishim's new book is a continuation of the research conducted by eminent scholar Ahmed Basha Kamal, the first Arab Historian who wrote precisely on ancient Egyptian history and civilization, and was the pioneer of the Egyptian school of Archaeological studies.

The seminar will start at 11:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
