Napoleon Bonaparte in "Salon El-Qahera"

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the BA, will pay a special visit to Napoleon Bonaparte in Paris in the second episode of "Salon El-Qahera", where the Arab watchers will view, for the first time, the personal belongings of Napoleon and his cemetery. The show will host a group of specialists, who will speak on Napoleon including Dr. Ishaq Obied, Dr. Mohamed Afifi, Dr. Fayez Hussein, and Dr. Mohamed Ali El-Kordy.

This week's episode will feature several surprises about Napoleon's personal life, his role in establishing contemporary French institutions, and his military wars.

"Salon El-Qahera" is aired on Egypt’s Channel 2 and Egypt’s Satellite Channel every Friday. The weekly one-hour program features special guests every week, and opens new horizons on pressing cultural, scientific, and intellectual issues, serving as an enlightened podium for Arab and Egyptian audiences.

The episodes is a discussion on a book or several books between four guests, moderated by Dr. Ismail Serageldin. The topics vary from Bulaq press, Napoleon, Description de l'Egypte, Naguib Mahfouz, Dar El-Kotb, folkloric sayings, Egyptian folklore to the history of writing, Imam Mohamed Abdo, the history of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, renowned poet Ahmed Shawky, Pharaohs' opera based on the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and many other interesting topics.

The show is directed by Yehia Momtaz, and prepared by Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department, Ayman El-Sherbiny, and Mohamed Motsh.
