The Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage Documents Heritage Press During the Next Five Years

Alexandria—The CULTNAT started the second stage of the Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage Press Project in cooperation with Dar Al-Kutub, this project includes the documentation of the period between 1830 – 1920, whether its daily or weekly newspapers or magazines, through scanning these publications. The project will take 5 years. It will also be documented 20 million rare documents returning to the Mamalik era of the 90 million document targeted by the project.

It is worth mentioning that CULTNAT has implemented the first phase of the project in downtown Cairo, where the center has finished documenting 550 historical buildings dating back to the nineteenth century, using laser for the first time in the field of restoration maintenance and use of the 3D scanning in documenting and recording the architectural heritage and historic buildings.
