The Institute for Peace Studies hosts the Third Conference on the Dialogue Among People and Cultures

Alexandria— The Peace Studies Institute affiliated to the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement held on Sunday, 9 September 2007, the BA's second meeting of the Institutes board committee.

Ambassador Ali Maher, Director of the Institute for Peace Studies, stated that the objective of the Institute's second meeting was to develop a strategy and to develop an action plan for the continuation of the programs which began in 2007, in addition to revising the possibility of cooperation with other institutes and universities in the field of peace in order that the institute be able to issue an internationally recognized certificate.

The University of Alexandria is one of the first universities that the Institute signed a cooperation agreement with, where the Ambassador stated that the Institute held a meeting with the university faculty members to set operational plans to develop cooperation in many fields which will be fruitful in the coming period.

Ambassador Ali Maher also stated that the Institute was selected to host the third Conference on the Dialogue Among People and Cultures, January 2008. The first was held in Paris, September 2006, and chaired by President Chirac and Mrs. Mubarak, while the second was held in Seville, Spain, June 2007, this comes within Mrs. Mubarak's efforts in spreading the culture of peace and the establishment of the first movement that enhances the role of women in peace in the Middle East.

The Conference will include prominent personalities, decision-makers, intellectuals, civil society representatives, professors and experts from Mediterranean countries, Europe and the Arabian Gulf, under the auspices of Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak.
