Deadline of the Big Read Contest Extended

Alexandria—The deadline of the Big Read Essay and Photography Contests about the novel To Kill a Mockingbird was extended to 15 July 2009.
The Big Read is a cultural project with various activities around a selected novel.
Interested participants, starting 17 years, can submit an essay in English or Arabic, or a photograph, to the BA Reference Service Desk at the E level. Participants may also send their contributions to infobib@bibalex.org, using as a subject line “Big Read Essay Contest”, or “Big Read Photo Contest”, and indicating the following personal data: name, age, profession, organization, field of study, country, phone and e-mail.
The essays will be reviewed by a committee chaired by Dr. Shadia El-Soussi, for English essays and Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Anani, for Arabic essays. The committee for photography contest includes Photographers Abdallah Dawastashy, Mohamed Nafea and George Nader.
The winners will be announced during the Big Read Summer Ceremony on 13 August 2009.
