More than 330 New Documents on “Memory of Modern Egypt”

Posted on

The “Memory of Modern Egypt” (MOME) project now includes the first licenses issued to theatrical and cinema troupes in Egypt. The new collection consists of several historical documents and rare licenses of these troupes from different governorates, especially Alexandria, as part of the documentation of the Egyptian art.

MOME is a digital repository documenting the last 200 years of Egypt’s modern history through tens of thousands of varying items, such as documents, pictures, audios, videos, maps, articles, stamps, coins, etc. that created an index of 14 different material types. The interface and the underlying infrastructure of the repository allow the user to browse by facets, thus allowing for optimum data filtration and more precise browsing.

The project’s team welcomes contributions from the public. The team can be easily contacted via Mahmoud.ezzat@bibalex.org
