The Bibliotheca Alexandrina took part in the second round of Africa Health Exhibition and Conference, which was inaugurated by H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and was held from 6 to 9 June 2023, at Egypt International Exhibition Center.

In her speech, Dr. Marwa El-Wakeel, Head of the BA Academic Research Sector, explained that the Library offers several grants to young Egyptian and African researchers to support their research in various fields, such as agriculture, medical sciences, physics, mathematics, chemistry, earth sciences, artificial intelligence and information analysis. These grants have contributed to the publication of more than four hundred refereed academic research papers in international scientific journals and periodicals.

Nearly one hundred African students affiliated to the “African League of Young Masters” programs, which have been organized by the Library since 2011, also participated in the Conference. These programs aim to build the capacities of African students studying at different Egyptian universities by holding weekly meetings at the Library and organizing a number of workshops to provide them with various scientific skills.

In addition, the session featured presentations on a range of projects related to artificial intelligence applications and the role of entrepreneurship in the fields of dentistry.
