The BA Wins Awards at the Sixth International Full Dome Film Festival

Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, stated that the Library’s Planetarium Science Center has won four awards at the Sixth International Full Dome Film Festival, held this year in Russia, in the city of Yaroslavl, at the Valentina Tereshkova Dome, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the world’s first female cosmonaut’s trip to space.

The Festival was held under the auspices of the International Federation of Planetariums and the Asian Planetarium Association. It witnessed the participation of 14 countries with a total of 32 films, including 4 short films (less than 15 minutes), 7 live-action interactive films, and 21 long-feature films. The BA won the first prize in the live-action film category for the film The Sky through Arab Eyes by Dr. Omar Fikri, Head of the Planetarium Theater Section, and the same film won the audience award for best film. Additionally, the film Brilliant Mind won third place, while The Mission won the award for best educational cartoon film tied with another film.
