The BA Hosts Wikimania 2008
The BA won the bid to host the 4th annual Wikimedia Conference, following a tough competition with Atlanta and Cape Town. Alexandria is the first Arab and African city hosting this annual conference.

International Project Makes Complete Texts Available Through Single Web Portal
The Million Book Project has surpassed its 1 million book goal. 1.5 million books, representing more than 20 languages, have been digitized and are now available to anyone with internet access.
