Summer Program 2010

The Planetarium Science Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is organizing its fourth Summer Program in a row for young children and youth, 6-16 years of age, on 21 June - 7 September 2010. The program comprises a variety of activities that suit different ages and backgrounds.

BA Bids Farewell to Space Shuttle Atlantis

On 14 May, NASA’s Space Shuttle Atlantis blasted into space, from Kennedy Space Center (KSC), on its final mission, designated STS-132 (Space Transportation System 132). The main object of STS-132 is to deliver a new Russian module to the International Space Station (ISS), orbiting Earth at an altitude of about 340 km.


Dive for the Earth Day, 23 April 2010

The Alexandria Diving Club is organizing the 10th “Dive for the Earth Day” in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Alexandria Cosmopolitan and the Planetarium Science Center at the Library of Alexandria within the framework of the Science Festivity 2010 under the overarching theme of “Water”.

Dr. Farouk Elbaz at Cairo Science Festival on 19 April 2010

Cairo Science Festival presents Dr. Farouk Elbaz, Director of the Center for Remote Sensing Boston University, and Veteran of NASA's Apollo Program, on 19 April 2010. Dr. Elbaz will be delivering a lecture entitled "40 Years of Landing on the Moon: What We Have Learned and Where We Are Heading Next", followed by open dialogue. The lecture takes place at 1:00 PM in the Bassily Hall, AUC, New Cairo.


BA Team Wins in the MSA Science Fair 2010

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has won a number of awards in the MSA Science Fair that took place on 10 April 2010 at 6th of October University. The MSA Science Fair is held by the October University for Modern Sciences and Arts for the second year, targeting young inventors who have presented more about 70 projects.


Underwater Adventures - Coloring Booklet for Children (7 years and above)

Science Olympiad Competition at the Planetarium Science Center

The Science Olympiad is a competition targeting students in Middle schools from 14-18 February, 2010 at the Workshop area-ALEXploratorium. Its main goal is to stimulate enthusiasm and interest in different fields of science.
