Did the discovery of typewriter make pens/pencil obsolete? Internet cannot take over all scientitific publication, at least, in young developing countries like many African countries because of the following reasons: (1) it is too "sophisticated" for the majority of those who may need to use it; (2) it is relatively expensive. Having access to internet is not free and getting a computer, the paraphernalia and the training that go with it are not inexpensive in many African countries; (3) regular power outage and faulty telephone lines are the normal occurrences in many African countries.

Journals will still be the preferred modality of disseminating scientific information in many African countries for a long time to come. It is easily accesible, and articles can even be read in a village under a tree with moonlight!
