*Training and Volunteering Opportunities at Information Desks for Recent Graduates

The Information Services Department at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina announces its volunteering program, which aims to empower young people to develop their practical and personal skills through a combination of training and volunteering. Participants will receive an intensive one-month training program (from 5 to 30 April 2026) on reference services to assist users. They will also learn how to develop their personal skills that are required for the job market, such as effective communication, leadership, responsibility, time management, task organization, teamwork, problem solving, decision making, and self-confidence.

The actual volunteering period lasts three months until 31 July 2026, to provide an opportunity to gain practical experience, simulate the work environment, and contribute to achieving the Library's mission of serving scientific research and community development. 

Program Objectives:

  • Enhance the professional and personal skills of young people.
  • Prepare them for the job market.
  • Instill the values of volunteer work and social responsibility.
  • At the end of the program, trainees receive a certificate of participation and a letter of appreciation for their efforts.

Program Admission Requirements:

  • Full-time commitment.
  • University degree (in any field).
  • Proficiency in English or French.
  • Proficiency in using computer software.

  • Reference services in the Multimedia Library.
  • Closed Stacks information desk.
