Objective: This course aims to introduce the student to the legal and administrative systems prevailing in the Hellenistic kingdoms and the differences between them, and the connection of these differences to history, culture, customs, and political and economic conditions.

Content: The course addresses a number of geographical areas covering the major kingdoms at that time, to include Ptolemaic Egypt, Syria, Greece, Macedonia and Asia Minor.
