Objective: This course aims to study the history of Hellenistic kingdoms.

Content: This course deals with the history of the eastern part of the Alexander’s kingdom. In terms of the emergence and development of the kingdoms into which that region was divided, such as the Seleucid Kingdom and the Kingdom of Pergamon. The course presents the disputes of the ruling families, the decline and collapse of those kingdoms, and the changes that occurred in Asia Minor and Syria until the arrival of the Romans. The course focuses on the study of public life, commerce, the emergence of new cities, and the cultural mix in that region. The course is also concerned with studying many historical issues, such as the political, economic and social history of Greece after the decline of the city-state and the beginning of becoming open to Hellenistic civilization and the East.
