Objective: This course aims to study the works of the Alexandrian commentators on Plato and Aristotle.

Content: With a long history of philosophical commentaries on the works of Plato and Aristotle, the course will address a number of Platonic new commentators and interpreters. The commentator will also study the works of individuals, such as Eriksenarchus at the end of the 1st century BCE, Aristotle, Galen, Alexander Aphrodisius, Porphyry, and Simplicius all the way to Yahya al-Nahawi, who was born in Alexandria in 530 CE.
