LYM Session - 21 February 2010

Our meeting started with Mrs. Layla Abdel Hady welcoming the attendees and giving a brief introduction about the LYM and YESBU activities.

Then, Ms. Hend Fathy made an announcement about the trip to “Saint Catherin and Raas Mohammed Nature Reserves”. The total number of youth participating in the  trip would e only 40 (20 members of Safwa families and 20 from the LYM active and committed members).

Accommodation: Ministry of Environment rest house in Sharm El Sheikh City.

Fees: 200 EGP.

Registration: Thursday 25/2- Room E, Conference Center, 11 am - 1 pm.

Late comers are not accepted so please abide by the specified date and time.

The first presentation was entitled “YESBU and LYM” by Ibrahim Gamal El Din and Mr. Ahmed Refaat. They displayed the history of our program since the 2002 Global Environmental Youth Convention “GEYC”. Then, they introduced about the Young Masters e-learning program and described its four parts. After that, they started talking about the LYM and YESBU activities (meetings, workshops, etc), means of interaction with us. Then Ibrahim introduced the YESBU website and explained how to register in the Young Masters Program either in the English or the in Arabic version. Finally, they encouraged the attendees to seek help from any of the volunteers.

Then, Dr. Salah Soliman commented on the presentation emphasizing on the role of the LYM and YESBU programs in improving the skills and knowledge of its members and he started discussing various subjects such as energy consumption and the importance of the high dam project in preserving energy in Egypt.

Finally, Ms. Hend Fathy introduced to the four LYM organizing committees and gave a brief description of the duties of each committees and their members and encouraged the attendees to seek the help of any of the organizing committees with any inquiries or questions.

Unfortunately, our next meeting is cancelled for  the Arab Reform Conference is to be held in BACC.
