On 16 October 2008, a lecture entitled “The Route of Alexander the Great” was given by Nicolas Sofianos, who is a lecturer at the Technical University of Athens, an architectural designer of various projects, and a theater producer, director and art director.

One of Nicolas Sofianos’s projects was a seven-year research of Alexander the Great’s route from the foothills of Mount Olympus to the banks of the River Hindus. This project resulted in the production of a documentary miniseries and a book entitled “Is Alexander Still Alive?” His lecture at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina focused on the connection between Alexander the Great and Egypt, and was accompanied by highlights from his documentaries.
