Book Launches: The Zoghebs: An Alexandrian Saga

The 22 December 2005 saw the launch at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina of the second installation of Alex Med’s Monograph Series, entitled The Zoghebs: An Alexandrian Saga. The book contains three narratives written by various members of the Zogheb family, a French-speaking Catholic family of Syrian origins who moved within the wealthy circles of cosmopolitan Alexandria. The monograph represents a slice of life led by the aristocratic foreign communities of Alexandria from the 19th to the 20th centuries, a way of life which has long since disappeared.
