For the sixth year, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center (PSC) organizes the Summer Program, directed to Children and youth, ages 4-16 years old, during the period from 1 June 2013 to 29 August 2013. The Summer Program comprises two groups presenting the same activities; Group One: from 1 June 2013 to 11 July 2013, and Group Two: from 13 July to 29 August 2013. The Closing Ceremony will be held on 4 September 2013.

As a part of the Science Festivity 2013 deliberation, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center proudly organizes a lecture by the eminent scientist, Dr. Farouk El Baz, under the title of “Role of Youth in Assuring a Brighter Future”. The lecture will be held in Sunday, 14 April 2013, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Great Hall, 5:00 pm.

The Goathe-institute in Alexandria cooperates with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center within the framework of Science Festivity. For the first time, Goathe Institute organizes the “Science Slam” event in Arabic on 19 April 2013, under the title “Natural Disasters”.

U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson recognized the outstanding contributions of Egyptian women in science during a March 12 reception co-hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the U.S. Consulate General in Alexandria. At the event, Ambassador Patterson inducted Alexandria University Professor Dr. Boshra Salem into the State Department’s 2013 Women in Science Hall of Fame for the Middle East and North Africa.

The Planetarium Science Center is organizing Intel-Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel-BASEF) 2013 during the period 9-11 March 2013. The competition targeting school students (14–18 years) is designed to increase their awareness of the importance of scientific research. Submitted projects are evaluated and screened on two stages

The BA Planetarium Science Center is organizing the "Hands on Particle Physics Masterclasses", on Thursday, 7 March 2013. In this event, participants will find answers to different queries of particle physics by browsing, reading, and working through some of the educative materials.

This is the perfect chance for you to learn about the Science of Astronomy, and also enjoy your time. The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) will initiate the Amateur Astronomy Club Beginners Course, where the junior astronomers can practice astronomy for interest and enjoyment, under the supervision of the PSC.

The PSC Amateur Astronomy Club team will organize Monthly Evenings that aim at disseminating astronomy culture and attracting amateurs to observe different astronomical phenomena and share the latest news and updates in astronomy and space sciences.
