On the occasion of the Egyptian-French Cultural Year, the Tahtawi Council of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Academic Research and Cultural Outreach Sectors of the BA organize a ceremony entitled `` Description of Egypt: Reading Through Time and Place '' on Tuesday 22 October 2019 at 5 p.m.

The Center recently published the 13th Issue of Abgadiyat Journal; a scientific refereed journal issued annually. Abgadiyat Journal is published and distributed worldwide in partnership with Brill Publishing, Leiden, Netherlands.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the French Institute in Egypt hold an Exhibition dedicated to the art of Arabic printed letters, under the umbrella of the France – Egypt Cultural Year. The Exhibition is distinguised by its exceptional quality. It reflects several centuries of calligraphy, featuring posters from the Arab world, from Algiers to Beirut in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as the history of the Arabic printed letters from the 16th to the 21st century, and a selection of special calligraphy creations by contemporary artists.

The center is organizing a course entitled “Aramaic Inscriptions: Reading and Analyzing” from 21st until 25th of July 2019, from 2 p.m untill 4 p.m in Meeting Room “C” at the Conference Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The lecturer is Prof. Solayman Al Zaeeb, Professor of Ancient Arabian Inscription, King Saoud University.

 As a part of the IFAO-Sorbonne Research Program "ÉCRITURES", an international conference will be held from 15 to 17 June 2019, organized by Khaled Hassan (Cairo University/IFAO) & Chloé Ragazzoli (Sorbonne Université), the sessions of the conference will all take place in Cairo, at the Institut Français d’Archéologie Orientale (IFAO).
