A Field Visit to Mubarak City for Science and Technology

Under the supervision of the Advisors for Special Projects Office at the Library of Alexandria, the LYM youth paid a field visit to Mubarak City for Science and Technology on February the 3rd, 2009. Fifty- three youth from different educational backgrounds participated in the event that lasted for about 7 hours from 9.30 am to 4 pm.    The youth, guided by members of the public relations staff in the city, visited the three main institutes in Mubarak City.

·        Advanced Technology and New Materials Research Institute (ATNMRI)
·        Agriculture Research and Development Institute (ARADI).
·        Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute (GEBRI).
During the tour, they were introduced to the tasks performed in different laboratories. Specialists and researchers working in these laboratories explained the functions of different sophisticated equipments, machinery and computational systems used in scientific research.  
In a brief meeting with Prof. Mohamed El-Saadany, president of Mubarak City for Science and technology, Mr. Mahmoud Ramadan handed him forms to be filled by the researchers for the Arab Scientists Database. Then, Prof. El-Saadany greeted the LYM youth and he welcomed forthcoming co-operation with the YESBU and LYM programs.
